Helen Williams, the record-breaking wigmaker, unveiled the cost behind her Guinness World Record for the longest handmade wig. In an exclusive interview with Vanguard, she disclosed that the project consumed 11 days and over N6 million, with the wig stretching an impressive 351.28m (1,152ft 5in).
Williams invested over N2 million in purchasing 1,000 hair bundles, emphasizing that she accomplished the feat solely by hand, without any machinery.
Despite initial doubts due to the proliferation of record attempts, Williams persevered, attributing her success to the support of family, friends, and her official witness. Since achieving the milestone, she has received global recognition and admiration.
