Nigeria: Gunmen snatch Benue information commissioner

The Benue State Commissioner for information, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Matthew Abo, has been abducted by gunmen in Zaki Biam, Ukum Nearby Government Region of the state.

A previous special advisor on Media and ICT to the prompt past governor of the state, Mr. Tahav Agerzua, let it be known of the alleged kidnap on his facebook page on Sunday night.

He uncovered that the recently introduced official was removed by equipped men who raged his confidential home at around 8pm Sunday.

Mr. Agerzua, in the post, unveiled that the armed men blockaded the home of the magistrate on motorbikes and removed him at gunpoint in the wake of requesting his wife, Children and others, who were with him, to lie confronted.

Part of the post by Mr. Agerzua read: ” There are affirmed reports that few shooters raged the home of Matthew Abo, Benue State Magistrate for Data, Culture and The travel industry in Zaki-Biam, and snatched him around two hours prior.

“Observers express that the ruffians came on four cruisers, requested everybody in the house, including the magistrate’s better half and youngsters, to lie face down and removed him to an obscure objective on one of the bikes.

“The observers said the abductors constrained the chief at gunpoint to sit behind the rider of one of the cruisers, while a shooter sandwiched him.

“The kidnapping occurred after 8p.m. on Sunday, 24th September, 2023. The matter has been accounted for to the police.”

Review that the snatched chief was confirmed as an individual from the Benue State Leader Committee on August 29, 2023 and he hails from Ukum Board.

Ukum is in the Sankera hub of the state, which is comprised of Ukum, Logo and Katsina-Ala neighborhood legislatures.
