Nigeria: Gunmen kill political office seeker, son in Plateau

Gunmen have gone after Bureh town in Mangu Nearby Government Area of Level State and killed two people.

On Thursday, locals in Jos informed The PUNCH that the deceased included John Mai Kyau, a political office seeker, and his son.

It was discovered that during the assault which happened on Wednesday night, the shooters likewise caused wounds for Mai Kyau’s better half who was hurried to a medical clinic in Mangu where she is presently getting therapy.

An inhabitant of Bureh People group, Salisu Maikudi, who affirmed the assault said the casualties were covered on Thursday evening.

He stated, “Last night, two people were killed when gunmen attacked our Bureh village in Mangu Halle Ward.” John Mai Kyau, a candidate for the Ward in the neighborhood, was among those killed. His son was also killed by the assailants, and his wife was injured. She is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

“So, we just buried the two victims who were killed during the attack this afternoon,”

Bala Fwangji, the legislator who represents Mangu South in the Plateau State House of Assembly, also confirmed the attack and characterized it as “unfortunate.”

“I’m in Abuja now however my kin called to illuminate me about the assault which prompted the killing of two people. When I get back, I’ll pay the affected village a visit. The incident is unfortunate, the legislator stated.
