Nigeria: Body recovered by LASEMA from a collapsed building on Banana Island
At 1st Avenue, Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos State, a seven-story building that had collapsed has yielded one body from the rubble.
According to Gbenga Omotosho, the Lagos State Information and Strategy Commissioner, on Friday, the adult male’s remains were discovered during the search and recovery efforts of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency. The individual’s specifics were not yet known.
Using the architectural plans, excavation of the site continues. A laborious search and rescue operation has divided the site into quadrants. The search operation has been concluded, and quadrants two and three have been leveled with ground zero. In a statement, he added, “Quadrant for is ongoing.”
