A 32-year-old carpenter, Onyekachi Agu, poured acid on his ex and his opponent was on Wednesday condemned to seven years detainment by a Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja.

In 2020, Justice Oyindamola Ogala sentenced Agu to prison for a charge of causing ghastly bodily harm to two people, Aishat Adefarati and Mansur Ahmed.

At the point when Agu was summoned, the state examiner, Uju Uwangaze, let the court know that he committed the offense on July 3, 2020, at Gangare Lodging, Mile 12, in Lagos.

She claimed that Agu led the victims to the hotel and sprayed them with acid.

The offense violated Section 245 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, according to the prosecutor.

However, the accused convict pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.

Based on his confessional statement, Justice Ogala ruled that the defendant was guilty and imposed the appropriate sentence.
