NDLEA arrests 252 drug criminals in Edo

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in Edo State has arrested 252 suspected drug dealers and traffickers in nine months.
The National Commander of the NDLEA, Buba Wakawa, disclosed the matter in Benin on Thursday through the Narcotics Deputy Commander for Media and Advocacy, Ondoyimi Bebetu, adding that the suspects were arrested between January and September 2023. said that it was done.
He said some drug users were given counseling and released to their relatives, adding that the law allows the agency to provide counseling.
He explained that to combat drug trafficking, the authorities, in cooperation with the police, military and other sister agencies, regularly raid hotels and event centers in the province.
He said: “Since January till now, NDLEA has arrested 252 suspected drug traffickers and peddlers in the state. Some of them have been jailed, some are still in court while others have been counselled.“
