By Himanshu Mishra: Delhi Police got a big breakthrough in the Shraddha Walkar murder case, a 26-year-old woman who was allegedly strangled and then chopped into 35 pieces by her live-in partner Aaftab Ameen Poonawala. Sources privy to the investigation told India Today TV that cops have assessed CCTV footage of October 18 in which Aaftab is seen carrying a bag and it is suspected that he was going to dispose of the dismembered body parts of his girlfriend.

In the CCTV footage, Aaftab made three rounds and police suspect that he might be out with the bag to dispose of the body parts which he had stored in the 300-litre fridge before dumping them across the national capital over a period of several days.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police’s search operation in Mehrauli forest continued for the sixth day in a row to trace the missing key evidence in the Shraddha murder case.

According to sources in Delhi Police, Aaftabtold cops that he was under the influence of drugs on the day of the murder. Poonawala used to smoke cannabis and Walkar regularly upbraided him for cannabis consumption and perhaps she did the same on the day she was killed.

Delhi Police teams have been sent to Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand in connection with the investigation of the murder case. After leaving Mumbai, Walkar and Poonawala travelled to several locations which are being visited by police to ascertain whether something had happened on those trips to trigger the murder
