IAC Executives Neneh Bojang & Sheriffo K Touray Attend 63rd Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women

Mrs Sheriffo K Touray, an Executive member of IAC, and Mrs Neneh Bojang, the founder and Executive Director of the Inter-African Committee in Norway (IAC Norway), is currently in the United States of America, attending the 63rd Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, dubbed CSW63. The event, which began on Monday, 11th March, is expected to end on March 22, 2019.

This year’s CSW63 is focusing on social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure to empower women and girls.

The Gender and Political activist, Neneh Bojang who is currently working as a Consultant at the Norwegian Directorate for Work, Welfare and Social Security for the Government of Norway was at the Permanent Mission Of The Gambia, with H.E Ambasador Lang Yarboe and members of the Gambian Delegation.

Mrs Bojang, who is also anchor of the famous ‘Neneh Show’ on MAMOS TV based in Oslo, Norway; Vice Chairperson of Gambia House Norway; and at the same time a Co-founder of the Voices of Women Platform, expressed delight at the opportunity and resolved her commitment towards women’s empowerment.

In a similar development, the Gambia’s newly appointed Minister of Women’s Affairs, Mrs Fatou Sanyang Kinteh and the Gambian delegation also had a Side Event on Tuesday, 12th March, 2019, where they participated in a discussion centered on the theme: “Improving the socio-economic well-being of women and girls through social protection policies and interventions .
