I am not desperate to be president of The Gambia – VP Darboe

The Vice President of the Republic of The Gambia, HE Ousainou Darboe has said that he is not desperate to be president of the Republic of The Gambia but is ready to tacle anyone who wants to divide his party, the United Democratic Party (UDP).
He made this revelation on Friday, December 7, 2018 during the opening ceremony of the party’s congress at the Paradise Suites Hotel at Senegambia.
“I am not desperate to be the President of the Gambia. But any person, whatever your designation, who wants to divide the UDP, I’m ready and Prepared to lock horns with you because I am elected to lead and protect the UDP,” Vice President Ousainou Darboe remarked.
HE Darboe, who is also Secretary General and party leader of the UDP said everyone knows the fact that Adama Barrow is the President of The Gambia and everyone knows that he (Ousainou Darboe, vice president) is the leader of the UDP. He added that the same UDP party that existed in 1996 is the same party they have today.
Oppostion party leaders such as Omar Amadou Jallow alias OJ of the PPP and Mai Ahmad Fatty, leader of the Gambia Moral Congress (GMC); and former Vice President Aja Fatoumata Jallow-Tambajang all graced the opening ceremony of the congress.
