Lagos Residents Navigate Flooded Roads Amidst Sunday Downpour

Lagos residents faced challenging road conditions as heavy rainfall led to widespread flooding in areas such as Egbeda, Idimu, Isheri-Oshun, and Akowonjo within the Alimosho Local Government Area. Vehicles navigated through submerged sections of roads, with some drivers resorting to driving against traffic to avoid floodwaters. The situation resulted in traffic gridlocks and frustrations among motorists, prompting calls for government intervention. Concerns were raised about the recurring flooding causing damage to roads, and commuters experienced delays due to unavailability of commercial buses and increased fares.

The Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotoso, assured ongoing efforts to address drainage issues in the state.
