GMC leader Mai Fatty resigns as Presidential Adviser

Gambia’s Presidential Adviser Mai Ahmad Fatty has resigned with immediate effect. Mr. Fatty, who
is also leader of the GMC political party, told journalists that he will continue to serve as Adviser until
9 th November this year.
He resigned letter yesterday and held a press conference today, Friday, 11th October 2019.
According to him, he will now concentrate on his party and will soon embark on a nationwide tour as
well as a tour of the Gambians in the diaspora.
Mr. Fatty was President Barrow’s first Interior minister, a position he served for only nine months
before he was removed. He was reinstated into Government as Special Adviser to the president in
December 2018.
