Information has reached to this medium that Gambians in Germany are going to the street against the plan deportation of Gambians undomented migrants in the European nation.

“Due to the high number of Gambian migrants in Baden-Württemberg, a comrade has contacted me a few days ago and finally agreed to organise a demonstration on Saturday 27th May 2023, from 14:00 to 17:00 European time at Stuttgart’s Schlossplatz, after receiving permission from the authorities upon their request,” a Germany-based Gambia told this reporter.

According to the source, the demonstration is organised by the Gambia Refugee Association Europe Branch together with its cooperation partners and supporters.

“Since last week Gambians migrants have been telling me we should  organise a demonstration against the plan deportation but in my experience with the community, people can talk when the deportation is planned, but when it comes to going to the streets and demonstrating, nobody goes, especially here in Berlin,” the source added.

“So after talking to a comrade in Stuttgart on the phone about the planned demonstration on Saturday, I made it clear to him that we are all in solidarity and support the planned demonstration. It is far away and we cannot go, but the struggle is ours and we are all demonstrate physically and virtually, by raising awareness and calling on our brothers and sisters to turn up in numbers on Saturday and raise their voices and concerns to the German and Gambian governments to uphold the deportation process and stop the Gambian delegates in Germany from identifying Gambians to be deported to The Gambia,” he added.

The source further revealed that the migrants want The Gambian Government to negotiate with the EU to reconsider its Good Practice Document, which was initiated to create solutions and potential opportunities for migrants who are already in Europe, integrated and on the right track.

“These and many other demands will be raised at the planned demonstration in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany,” the source noted.

The source further said that, recently a Gambian delegation have been presence at the German Foreigners Authority. He  added that German Police have been arresting Gambians undomented migrants for identification for deportation over past days.
