Generals, Tamba and Mendy to take plea at Court martial

Mamos Media

Ex-President Yahya Jammeh’s bosom friends and aides, Gen. Ansumana Tamba and Gen. Umpa Mendy are expected to take their pleas today before the Court-Martial sitting at the Yundum Barracks presided over by Justice Amina Saho-Ceesay.

The two former aides of Ex-President Jammeh are being charged with desertion contrary to the Armed Forces Act.

It would be recalled that the Court Martial on the last sitting overruled the preliminary objection raised by the defense counsel regarding the court’s jurisdiction and ordered that the accused persons take their pleas today.

It would be recalled that the two former top military officers left the jurisdiction in Jan. 2017 with Ex-President Yahya Jammeh to the Central African country, Equitorial Guinea where he is living in exile.
