The former deputy party leader of the Alliance for Patriotic Re-orientation and Construction (APRC) , Momodou Alieu Bah, widely known as M.A Bah has resigned from the APRC party effective September 10, 2018.
M.A Bah, an ex-officer of the Gambia Armed Forces who served as the last Interior minister under the regime of the former president Yahya Jammeh was involved in a power struggle over the leadership of the former president's political party. The APRC party had two camps, one headed by M.A Bah and the other headed by Fabakary Tombong Jatta, former National Assembly Member for Serrekunda East, who is the current leader of the party.
Reacting to his resignation, M.A Bah said he had made several consultations with his family and friends and had decided to resign from the party. He said he will now decide on which party to join soon.
