Gambia U-23 team to leave Banjul today for Benin ahead of Burkina clash

The Gambia U-23 team will tomorrow, Monday 19th September 2022 leave Banjul for Benin ahead of their 2023 Africa U-23 Championship first-leg qualifiers away to Burkina Faso this weekend.

Coach Abdou Jammeh alias T. Boy and his charges defeated The Gambia local and foreign-based selection 2-1 in their final warm up match played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Friday.

Abdoulie Manneh and Alieu Barry were on the score sheet for The Gambia U-23 team in the 24th and 78th minute of the match respectively.
The Gambia U-23 team will hold series of training seasons before locking horns with Burkina Faso in their first-leg encounter of the 2023 Africa U-23 Championship qualifiers.

Coach Abdou Jammeh alias T. Boy and his charges will fray to upset Burkina Faso in their first-leg clash and finish the job in their second-leg match to progress to the next round of the 2023 Africa U-23 championship qualifiers.
Meanwhile, Abdou Jammeh today, Sunday released a final 24-man Gambia U-23 squad for the African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Burkina Faso on September 21 and 27 in Benin and in Morocco respectively. The list includes 12 foreign-based players.
