06 Nov Ex-Interior Minister Ousman Sonko to face trial in January
Former Gambian Interior Minister Ousman Sonko trial is expected to face trial from the 8th of January 2024 at the Swiss Federal Criminal Court in Bellinzona (Viale Stefano Franscini 7, 6500 Bellinzona, Switzerland), according to TRIAL International.
The trial will take place in German and should continue on several weeks throughout January. “We are advocating for the Court to set up an English translation for the public, but this is, however, not sure – at least at this stage – whether the Court will agree to provide any translation,” TRIAL International states.
“TRIAL International staff will attend the full trial and we will be sharing regular updates and highlights as well as weekly recaps of the proceedings on a dedicated page of our website and social media platforms (Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter).”
“We are also working to have these updates translated in local languages in order to make sure that the trial news reach as many as possible in The Gambia. We hope to have more updates to give you soon.”
“We hope you will find these updates useful and we will be very grateful to all of you who will decide to share these messages further. TRIAL International staff will also be available to answer any question you or others might have on the trial.”
