Cashier jailed 5 years for embezzling N64.4m from employer

Cashier Tunde Abdulramon has been sentenced to five years in prison for embezzling N64,420,900 from his employer in Lagos. He used the stolen money to marry a new wife and opened a similar business for her. The court ordered him to return all properties bought with the stolen money.

 Abdulramon, working for Prime Grocers International Limited, was found guilty of stealing and fraudulent false accounting, committing the offenses between January 2009 and 2012. 

He altered the company’s records, deleting invoices and diverting payments made by customers.

 The judge, Raliat Adebiyi, sentenced him to two and a half years for counts one to nine and counts 10 and 11, to run concurrently.
