07 Nov 34-year-old Ogun woman found dead in canal

A 34-year-old woman, Bidemi Damilola, was found dead in a shallow canal a few steps from a pig farm in Mabolfon area of Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.
PUNCH Metro learned from the Ogun State Police Command that the body of the deceased had gone missing until finally recovered on Friday.
The husband of the deceased, Mr. Adekunle Fetiga, who led the search, immediately contacted the Igbeba police in the area and reported the incident.
According to the command, Ms Fetiga claimed that her family became worried after the woman left home on Thursday and did not return.
Punch She Metro has also learned that the circumstances that led to the woman’s death are unknown, but police said a plastic bag containing an unidentified liquid substance was found at the scene.
The command also said that two pairs of slippers believed to belong to the deceased were found next to a shallow canal.
Our correspondent also learned from the police that although there were no signs of violence on her body, an investigation has now been launched to unravel the circumstances of her disappearance and subsequent death. I did.
Speaking exclusively to Punch Metro on Sunday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, said: Once the case is closed, she will be referred to the State Criminal Police Department for further investigation.
“Meanwhile, the body was taken to the state hospital mortuary in Ijebu-Ode for autopsy.”
