26th Gambia Open set for January 23rd

The 26th Gambia Open golf competition is set to commence on Tuesday 23rd January 2024 at the Sir Dawda Jawara Golf Course in Fajara.

The tournament is organised by the Gambia Golf Association (GGA) in partnership with Fajara Club. Main sponsors for the competition are Royal Enterprise Limited and Cropscore.

Prize monies for professional golfers are as follows:  1st GMD68,000, 2nd GMD30,000, 3rd GMD20,000, 4th GMD10,000, 5th GMD6,000, 6th GMD4,000, 7th GMD3,000 and 8th -10th each receive GMD2,000.

In the amateurs 9 hole round – First, Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth in both the men category 1 and category 2 will receive prizes.

In the ladies: First, Second and Third will receive prizes.

Special prizes for amateurs 9 hole round will include longest putt, nearest to the pin, and booby prize.

The GGA expects the participation of over 15 professional and at least 35 amateurs from The Gambia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Sweden.
